Outdoor Group Play Therapy Session

For Home-Educated Children (Ages 4–12) in South Bristol

Is your child finding big feelings hard to manage?
Do they struggle with anxiety, confidence, friendships, or change?

Our outdoor group play therapy sessions offer a safe, nurturing space where children can explore emotions, build resilience, and grow in confidence — through play, creativity, and connection with others.

Who is this for?

This group is suitable for home-educated children aged 4–12 years who may be experiencing:

  • High levels of anxiety or worry

  • Low self-esteem or confidence

  • Difficulties working or playing with others

  • Challenges with transitions or change

  • Big emotions that feel overwhelming

Children do not need a diagnosis to attend.

What will sessions look like?

Play therapy supports children to express and process their feelings in a way that feels natural to them — through play, movement, imagination, and creativity.
Being outdoors adds further benefits, including regulation, sensory input, and space to explore at their own pace.

Sessions will be child-led, gently supported, and emotionally safe. This means that children will be able to choose how they engage with the session and will engage at their own pace. They will have the opportunity to build relationships in a safe environment, engage with the natural world and play.

If your child attends sessions, they will become part of the same group of children that meet regularly throughout April - July. Committing to attending all sessions is a great way to build safety and relationship and give space for your child to process and express tricky emotions.

We will limit places to keep the group supportive and contained.

Free Trial Session

We are offering a free trial session on Thursday 19th March, 12:30-2:30pm, so families can see if the group feels like a good fit before committing.

We will begin by sharing lunch together round the fire (please bring your own packed lunch).

We can then offer you a taster of what activities could look like if you committed to coming to the group.

We want this group to be shaped by the people who come, so we'll take the time to hear your stories and learn what you're looking for from the group throughout the session.

Please note that for the trial, parents will need to stay with their children for the session - this won't have to be the case once the group gets started.

The session will be outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather!
